We have Pablo Abrante as our new screen writer and Sarah Moreno as our new production coordinator, as well as our production designer. Both of them will be working on our latest film "Just Business" and will surely make a great impact on the over all look and feel of the film.

We have just added on a new member to our film company, Carlos Morales. He will now be our second photographer along with Karen Moran. Carlos Morales also does solo work as CM Photography for special occasions of all kinds, promotion of skate boarders, bands, and much more. As a photographer for Mind Blown Films, he will be doing set work, band and concert photography, special occasions, and possibly be an additional cameraman.

Miami Beach Senior High Students on the Red Carpet

The Miami Children's Museum welcomed filmmakers, family and friends to their 13th Annual Film Festival Red Carpet Awards Ceremony

on Sunday, May 17 at 4:00 PM at the Miami Children's Museum. Awards were given to students whose films demonstrated exceptional achievement in craft and creativity. Miami Beach Senior High Students, Everett Lima, Enrico Mattei, Juan Pinzon, Claudia Perez, Cindy Reyes & Andrew Freedman (Director of Mind Blown Films) were nominated for Best PSA, Best Drama & two nominations for Best Experimental film. Andrew Freedman took home the award for Best Experimental Film for his short digital film "What A Charmer"

Entries were judged by professionals in the film and television industry.

Here is a short film written, directed, and edited by Rey Valdes who is the Mind Blown Film's writer. Cinematography was done by Daniel Roman and Andrew Freedman, who is the director of Mind Blown Films. The cast consists of Rey Valdes as Quentin, Jesse Gajer as Damien, and Daniel Roman as Andrew. The song at the end is Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. Rey Valdes would also like to give a special thanks to his mother, Mr. Pike!, Mind Blown Films, and Zachary Hoskin.

Mind Blown Films Is Entering A Film Festival

In May of 2009 Mind Blown Films will be entering a film festival at The Miami Children's Museum. We will be entering five our films. The first two were made at The New York Film Academy over the summer, which our called "Killing Three Birds With One Bottle" and "What A Charmer", also known as "They're Such A Charmer". Then two other films are advertisements done for the Embryo Club at Miami Beach Senior High School. Then, the last film being entered is a music video done for the musical group Duo for their song called "That One Song". All five of these films are featured on our YouTube page at www.youtube.com/MindBlownFilms.

Here is another Embryo advertisement done in order to tell people that the 2009 submission deadline is coming up on Feb 12. The Embryo is a literary magazine that features creative works by students. The Magazine features poetry, short stories, and essays as well as drawings, paintings and photos. All the editing and art is done by students, so it is a unique representation of the artistic community here at Beach High. The Embryo club is always open to new members, so please come to meetings if you are in any way interested in Embryo. Meetings are held on Wednesdays at lunch time in room 754.

Mind Blown Films has just recently adopted two new members. The first new member is Karen Moran, who is now the Mind Blown Films photographer and will take pictures of local Miami bands playing live. The second new Mind Blown Films member is Oscar Osman, who is now the new Mind Blown Films cinematographer, he will also record local Miami bands playing live, will be a second camera, at time a director of photography, and will also be the cameraman during film making.

Now that Mind Blown Films has a photographer, not only will we record bands in South Florida playing live on video, but we will also use the skills of Sarah Moreno to take pictures of them and post them on the internet. So, this weekend we actually made a script for a short film about a writer who finally completes a movie script that he has been working on until he meets a woman and falls in love with her, but after that things go downhill for him. Find out what happens in the end when we make it and post it on the web, we really hope you enjoy it once its made. Also, just so everyone knows all suggestions for future short films or video ideas are still welcome.
